About the Vanished Children's Alliance
VCA's Mission Statement
The Vanished Children's Alliance (VCA) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting all children from disappearing. To ensure children's safety, VCA educates the public and professionals about the serious issue of abducted and runaway children. VCA works to prevent, locate, and recover child victims and reunite them with their families in collaboration with law enforcement, other credible service agencies, and communities at large.
The Vanished Children's Alliance was formed in 1980 by Georgia K. Hilgeman, VCA's Executive Director, and other professionals and victims to address the growing need for victim parents to obtain credible, effective and compassionate assistance in the location and recovery of their missing or abducted child(ren).
As one of the country's oldest and most experienced missing children's organizations, VCA is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation providing nationwide and overseas assistance to families in all categories of missing children: non-family (stranger) abductions, family abductions, and runaways.
| "[The Vanished
Children's Alliance has] consistently taken the lead in
developing new capabilities and services to assist both law
enforcement and families of missing children. I have recommended
VCA to many families of missing children and have never been
disappointed by their response."

With our national headquarters office in San Jose, California, the Vanished Children's Alliance provides critically needed direct services to families of missing children. VCA gives equal importance to abduction prevention, community outreach, training and child advocacy.
The Vanished Children's Alliance has assisted in more than 30,000 cases of missing and abducted children since 1980. Of these, we have documented that more than 90% have been found. All of our services are free of charge, as we are dedicated to keeping children safe and bringing missing children home.
