CCB Missing Child Photo dissemination Project
VCA has entered into a new collaborative project with Community Creative Broadcast Sales, LLC (CCB). CCB designs and produces high-quality public awareness commercials (in this collaborative on missing children) for primetime airing. The commercial provides a brief statement about the issue of missing and abducted children and then displays a missing child's photo and biographical information with a message asking anyone who has information to please call 1-800-VANISHED. This children featured in these commercials are children missing from that area or believed to possibly be in that area. The last few seconds of the commercial contain the information regarding the business that paid for the commercial.
With these commercials airing on major TV stations during prime time, we believe this new initiative will help recover missing children. Please visit their website www.ccbhome.com to obtain more information on this
NCCIP (Northern California Child Identification Program)
The California Child Identification Program is a state-level program of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (OES), Criminal Justice Programs Division. The program will serve two regions within the state (Northern and Southern Regions) by two agencies providing child abduction services which will assist law enforcement in the identification and recovery of missing/abducted children. Services within the Central to Southern California Region, hereinafter referred to as the "Southern Region," will be provided by Central California CARES. Services within the Central to Northern California Region, hereinafter referred to as the "Northern Region," will be provided by the Vanished Children’s Alliance (VCA).
PARK (Public Awareness Recovers Kids)
Experience has shown that one of the most effective tools in the location and recovery of missing/abducted children is the display of their pictures and physical description to the public. Because of the large and constant number of visitors in and out of driver's license and motor vehicle service offices, these locations provide a very effective venue for reaching many people. Therefore, in 2001, with the cooperation, support, and assistance of the state office, the Vanished Children's Alliance (VCA) began its Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Poster Program with California. Over the past four years, the California DMV Poster Program has proven to be a win-win situation for the DMV offices, VCA, and most importantly, the missing children.
